This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Damn good katsu curry, was just a smidge tough though. But the curry had a good spice with a little sweetness. Portions are huggeee. The β€œlittleβ€œ section on the menu would definitely be enough for me next time.

I’m 26 now, been coming here since a teenager. Have had the same great chicken katsu plate lunch so many times that I feel a sense of peace every time I have it. Same great taste and never fails to hit the spot. I also love the loco moco, and can always rely on picking up a spam musubi for my girl and I when we just want a small snack. I LOVE ALOHA EATS 🌺🍳🍚🌈 Mahalo

My partner and I both really enjoy the food here. Tasty, huge portions, unique. Last night, we got the BBQ Mix Plate, which was plenty for two people and came with three meats, rice, and macaroni salad. My picture shows how much food ONE order is. Will be back!

I got the BBQ Beef Plate which comes with a side of mac salad and white rice. I like how you have the option to swap out your sides with more rice or other sides from their menu. The bbq beef is chopped into small pieces and was almost a little too sweet at times. Better when you mix it in with rice or mac salad. The mac salad could have had more flavor. It slightly missed the mark and didn’t transport me back to Hawaii like some of the other mac salads I’ve had out here. I also got the Mini Hamburger Steak which was the star of the show. It’s basically a loco moco without the egg. It came with two hamburger patties smothered in gravy with two sides. I recommend getting an extra side of brown gravy like I did so you have extra when mixing in with the rice. So good and I would get this dish over and over again!

Everyone needs this mom and pop Hawaiian gem on their radar! It’s one of those perfect Chicago finds you stumble upon on a walk. Everything we ordered was fantastic and the homemade macaroni salad tastes like something your Granny would make! We will definitely be back and highly recommend the place!
